Assist in overall administration and operation for all phases of the security operation at assigned location(s) including Title 49 CFR Part 1542 Regulations.


  • Provides overall supervision of subordinates to include mentoring, coaching, counseling and disciplining of staff; coordinates with direct reports and Human Resources as appropriate.

  • Manages the HSS onboarding program for new employees and model appropriate behaviors to all employees in support of the company's "I Feel Valued" initiative.

  • Champions and supports strategic company initiatives and AGS division programs (e.g., Policies & Procedures).

  • Develops, implements, and manages the HSS security program in conjunction and consultation with the site director and airport client.

  • Identifies issues impacting security operations and develops programmatic responses and plans to include provide security awareness educational programs through briefings and training.

  • Analyzes department functions (e.g., teammate scheduling, overtime utilization, etc.) and makes changes when appropriate to increase effectiveness and productivity.

  • Assists in the management/oversight of the sub-contractor(s) partnership as detailed in the Teaming Agreement and Statement of Work (SOW) if applicable.

  • Understands and effectively ensures compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) if applicable.

  • Reviews reports and situations for continuous improvement opportunities and to identify potential positive/negative impacts to HSS and the client.

  • Participate in financial planning (e.g., budget); tracking of invoicing, expense reconciliation and ensuring fiduciary safeguards are in place.

  • Attends management meetings with client and other DEN stakeholders representing HSS.

  • May perform other duties as assigned including acting in the Site Director position in his/her absence.


  • Twenty-one (21) years of age or older.

  • US Citizenship.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Security Management, Law Enforcement, or a closely related field plus 8 to 10 years of aviation/security management or law enforcement or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 years of experience at a Title 49 CFR Part 1542 regulated airport.

  • Previous experience at a Category II (or higher) regulated airport preferred.

  • Valid Colorado driver's license.

  • Must have an American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Airport Certified Employee (ACE) -- Security designation or be able to obtain within one (1) year of selection.

  • Must have or be able to attain AAAE Certified Member (CM) designation within two (2) years of selection.

  • Thorough understanding of the operational requirements at airports and specific post requirements.

  • Must have demonstrated customer service experience and proven ability with process improvement and procedure implementation.

  • Ability to work and interact with a variety of people including, but not limited to; HSS teammates, client employees, site stakeholder employees, and the public.

  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English language proficiently; possess strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., reports, letters, memorandums).

  • Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype) and possess the ability to learn other proprietary systems and software (e.g., security incident management software, time and attendance, billing) and/or client specific systems.

  • Valid driver's license and be able to meet HSS driving requirements.


This is a full-time position. Work hours may vary depending on project deadlines and the needs of the company. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Environment may be fast paced and stressful.

While performing this job, individual will walk, stand, sit, observe and drive for extended periods of time in various weather conditions; run, climb stairs, and carry fire extinguishers or other emergency equipment; help restrain or lift a person; occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds; frequently required to use hands, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; self-motivation and ability to work independent of immediate supervision. Able to drive a car.
