Under the direction of the Sales/SAVeR Project Manager for the HSS Medicual Equipment Management Team, the Business Development position is responsible for business development with new and existing HSS Healthcare customers. This also involves maintaining service agreement value review (SAVeR) programs that are established at specific customer accounts. The position drives achievement of customer development, acquisition of business, and exceeding revenue goals.


  • Coordinates resources, prepares and delivers written sales proposals, bid responses and customer presentations to ensure timely and adequate response and follow-up to new business opportunities

  • Develops pricing strategies for new and existing business

  • Maintains assigned SAVeR accounts by providing service agreement value reviews on an ongoing basis with goals established to help the customer find the right service from the right source at the right price.

  • Plans and carries out direct sales and marketing activities to meet budget expectations and sales forecasts

  • Develops ideas and creates offers for direct sales and marketing to major accounts by main market sector and HSS services

  • Responsible for proposing and closing engagements that will achieve total revenue growth, profit, and customer satisfaction plans

  • Maintains and develops existing and new business opportunities through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal business leaders and staff

  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information

  • Aggressive and active in competitive accounts, knowledge regarding competition and industry trends

  • Liaise and attend meetings with other customer functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development

  • Constantly interact with the customer and become a valuable resource for them, responding quickly & proactively to their concerns and needs

  • Negotiate on behalf of our SAVeR customers for the services they need in a consultative style

  • Manage the external marketing activities of telemarketing and research as needed

  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills

  • Generate new business and help HSS achieve its targeted growth projections

  • Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database

  • Communicates with HSS MEM team on new business opportunities that affect their department

  • Participates with various security division training endeavors as needed

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different customer requests; exploring opportunities to add value to HSS customers

  • Works and interacts with MEM team members, current and prospective clients

  • Maintains a positive working relationship with facility management personnel, customers, vendors and HSS colleagues

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or related healthcare field preferred

  • Minimum three years business development experience in the healthcare applications field

  • General understanding of hospital department organization

  • Current and valid driver license and ability to meet the company's driving requirement

  • Demonstrated successful selling experience in a healthcare related field

  • Strong skill set in understanding medical service agreements that involve purchasing vendor services

  • Strong consultative sales experience for service products or service related products

  • A solid financial acumen with ability to effectively and accurately develop pricing strategies for new and existing business.

  • Ability to use Microsoft suite of products to include Excel for calculations and as a tracking, and planning tool Ability to plan and interact at both the strategic and operational levels

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, client leadership, as well as with customers and vendors both verbally and in writing

  • Must have conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner with attention to detail

  • Proficiency with office computers and XP Office Suite, Excel, Word, Project Management and other data management software such as Salesforce.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently interpret and promote corporate policy and procedures

  • Proven ability to work as part of a high performance team

  • Ability to use independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality

  • Must demonstrate a strong customer service aptitude and sincere willingness to serve and do right by the customer

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a short period of time *
