Position Summary:


Under the direction of the Regional Director, this position is responsible for directing multiple, larger, complex hospital/healthcare sites. This role serves as the administrative liaison to facility representatives and manages the HSS staff. This position also ensures the tenets of the HSS security program are in place and are adhered to. This position is part of the security healthcare senior management team.


This role will have the ability to work from home while maintaining operations oversight for healthcare faciilties across Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.


Essential Functions:



  • Directs program managers and security facility supervisors and assists with areas of responsibility as necessary. Effectively hires, manages, motivates, coaches, and formally evaluates the performance of all direct reports. Assists with client and security personnel investigation and provides input for disciplinary activities.

  • Assists in development and ensures the completion of competency tasks and facility orders.

  • Develops and implements internal controls to ensure field staff compliance with facility orders, competency tasks, and assigned duties.

  • Coordinates resources and ensures adequate security coverage of client locations, to include extra coverage and special events.

  • Reviews reports and situations for potential impact from site-based leadership.

  • Ensures completion of an Annual Security Management Plan and Annual Effectiveness Review for each TJC/DNV accredited assigned client.

  • Assists with the execution of the HSS Quality Management Program such as ensuring the quality of various required preparedness drills, surveys, and other program activities.

  • Plans, conducts, and documents emergency drills and exercises for client locations such as Infant Abduction Drills, Workplace Violence, Hostage, and others.

  • Creates, modifies, and updates policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for field operations and serves in a consultative and policy-setting role as related to the implementation and management of administrative solutions.

  • Initiates, collects, and reports data for operational and administrative purposes including overtime hours, recruitment, and retention.

  • Analyzes department effectiveness, productivity, and profitability and makes recommendations and/or changes as appropriate.

  • Coordinates and assists with various security personnel training programs as needed.

  • Ensures all necessary reports are provided to each assigned client in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Assists with crafting responses to RFPs.

  • Manages budgets and purchase and make recommendations for other company expenditures.


  • Works and interacts with employees, prospective employees, clients, vendors, guests, patients, medical personnel, law enforcement, and other governmental agencies.


Other Duties and Responsibilities



  • Maintains a positive working relationship with the facilities security representative and other facility management personnel, and local public safety agencies.

  • Writes letters of recognition and thank you notes for successful or positive situations involving HSS and its staff. Participates as needed as a transition team member for newly acquired security clients.

  • Works with fleet manager to coordinates the assignment, repair, and maintenance of field vehicles.

  • Conducts staff meetings.

  • Prepares reports and conducts presentations.

  • Trains security personnel as necessary.

  • Provides other duties at the direction of or in the absence of the Regional Director of Operations.


Qualifications and Competencies:



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred

  • Minimum 3 -5 years of security management experience.

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification or Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) certification required within one year of eligibility.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, site leadership, and entry-level personnel.

  • Prior leadership role in a healthcare security in hospital - a must!

  • World class customer service skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner with attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work as part of a high-performance team.

  • Proficiency with computers as well as word processing, data management, and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office products including ability to learn the VISION Labor Management software, and e-SRT. Demonstrated ability to independently interpret and promote corporate policies and procedures.

  • Current and valid driver license and ability to meet the company's driving requirements.

  • Excellent people skills and ability to develop and manage successful business relationships with clients and prospective clients.

  • Ability to perform duties while maintaining a high degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.


Manual/Physical Requirements:



  • Enters data into a personal computer (PC) to create documentation.

  • Must be able to climb, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, craw and move hardware weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary to provide customers with products.

  • Operates a variety of standard office equipment such as a PC, printer, telephone, and facsimile (fax).
