Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY


The Dispatcher is an essential part of the Communication Center which operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The Communication Center provides support to the facilities and maintenance team as well as security and the SAN client. The Dispatcher directly provides service to customers by answering questions and resolving issues from callers or distributing them according to established protocols.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Answers, documents, and dispatches all incoming calls according to established protocols and in a prompt manner; troubleshoots and resolves issues when able to do so.

  • Provides information and assistance to callers concerning emergency, security and general assistance needs.

  • Serves as an information resource to airport employees and clients; locates requested information through additional resources if needed.

  • Maintains a professional demeanor and adheres to established dispatch protocols at all times

  • Follows specific procedures for emergency and non-emergency situations.

  • Monitors the security system and dispatches security personnel when appropriate.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all maintenance and facilities requests.

  • Completes required reports accurately and in the required timeframes.

  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of customer service and/or call center experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous dispatch or security experience preferred

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)

  • Clear and effective phone skills

  • Able to work and interact with other employees, officers, customers, supervisors, guests, and emergency personnel

  • Proficiency with office computers and Microsoft Office software; ability to learn and use computer-aided software.

  • Able to obtain and maintain guard license

  • Able to type a minimum of 35 wpm

  • Able to work as part of a team

  • Excellent customer service aptitude

  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues as they arise


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT


While performing the duties of this position, individual may be required to sit for extended periods using computer and telephone equipment in a typical office setting. May lift and carry up to 10 lbs. Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis and formulation.
