Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY


This position administers leaves of absences in accordance with federal, state and local laws as well as HSS policies. Additionally, this position insures employee compliance with medical requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES



  • Determines employees' eligibility for various leaves of absences for assigned geographic area.

  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.

  • Communicates with employees, supervisors and managers, and medical providers to gather information and documentation needed to process leaves of absences.

  • Completes required paperwork and notifications for various leaves.

  • Updates ADP and tracks usage of leave time.

  • Tracks employees' compliance with medical requirements at the employees' assigned facility.

  • Communications with employees, supervisors and managers, and medical providers to insure timely completion of medical requirements.

  • Updates Vision system with compliance information in a timely manner.

  • Maintains files for leave of absence and medical compliance information.

  • Regularly communicates with a diverse population of employees and provides accurate information regarding the status of their human resources needs. Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity for the employee's circumstances. Provides excellent customer service at all times.

  • Applies professional judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and integrity to all duties and interactions.


OTHER DUTIES



  • May assist with the administration of leaves of absences in other geographic areas as needed.

  • Assists with worker's compensation administrative activities such as coding new employee injuries after receipt of injury report.

  • Requesting drug screens as required.

    • Provides administrative support on various department projects upon request.

    • Other duties as assigned.




QUALIFICATIONS



  • Associates Degree required plus 2 years of experience providing administrative support in a Human Resources department, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn new computer programs and databases.

  • Proficiency with computers, calculators, fax machines, telephones and a variety of other office equipment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization as well as outside parties.

  • Must have a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously while continuing to provide quality work.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT


While performing the duties of this position, individual may be required to sit for extended periods using computer and telephone equipment in a typical office environment. Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis and formulation. May be required to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 25 lbs.
