POSITION SUMMARY:


The STO will serve as a Trainer/Facilitator, Coach, Mentor, and Sponsor for new security officers at his/her facility in order to help new security officers assimilate more quickly to HSS and the assigned client site. The STO will receive training and tools to use when performing the duties of an STO.


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:



  • Ensures that new officers feel welcomed, prepared, and supported

  • Provides feedback to new officer's immediate manager on progress made and/or any issues noted in new officer's onboarding

  • Trains, coaches, mentors, and sponsors new officers via a number of tools and regular feedback in order to accelerate and improve the time to performance

  • Imparts HSS specific knowledge to new officers, as well as site specific information

  • Ensures that the new officer completes TEAM and TEAM Advanced


OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Communicates with STO Program support personnel at Corporate (iLEAD Department), and provide feedback regarding program and what is working well and what can be improved upon

  • Completes additional eLearning as needed or required to support the needs of the STO and/or is relevant per specific needs of the site


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Successful record of a security officer for at least 12 months

  • Current Master Security Officer (MSO) if working at a site with an MSO program

  • Demonstrates HSS Ethics and Values -- adheres to an appropriate and effective set of core values and beliefs during both good and bad times; acts in line with those values; rewards the right values and disapproves of others

  • Effective Written Communication -- is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect

  • Demonstrates Integrity and Trust -- is widely trusted and seen as a direct and truthful individual; keeps confidences; admits mistakes; and, doesn't misrepresent him/herself for personal gain

  • Ability to complete and pass all required eLearning and in-person classroom training

  • TEAM certified STO is highly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:


While performing this job, individual will walk, stand, sit, observe and drive for extended periods of time in various weather conditions; run, climb stairs, and carry fire extinguishers or other emergency equipment; help restrain or lift a person; occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds; frequently required to use hands, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; self-motivation and ability to work independent of immediate supervision.
